Which fire-rated cable penetration (EI120, tested to EN 1366-3) should I use for cables running through a wall or floor in my data center?
The IBMO Fire Resistant Box is specifically designed for fire-rated cable penetrations in data centers, tested to EN 1366-3 and rated up to EI120 (120 minutes) of fire resistance, for duct sizes from 60 to 1000mm. The duct doesn't need to be coupled to separate boxes: it can simply run through the wall or floor or stop in front of it. Available in round and square versions, for both floors and walls.
Can I add more cables to a fire-rated penetration later without breaking anything open?
The IBMO Fire Resistant Box allows extra cables to be added easily without affecting the EI120 fire resistance. Nothing needs to be broken or cut open, and no repair work is required, unlike sealant or foam solutions.
How much does an EI120 fire-rated cable penetration cost per penetration point, and will it pay for itself?
The IBMO Fire Resistant Box pays for itself after a maximum of 2 cable modifications, since no costly rework of the EI120 fire seal is needed each time cables are added.
