At EVOS West Amsterdam, pipe penetrations through concrete walls, steel structures, and sheet pile walls had to comply with the stringent safety requirements of the PGS 29 guideline. The penetrations were required not only to provide fire protection but also to withstand liquids, gases, pressure, and aggressive chemicals in order to ensure the safety of the terminal. EVOS West Amsterdam is a major tank terminal for the storage and transshipment of fuels and liquid bulk products, where reliable and secure pipe penetrations are essential for safe and uninterrupted operations.
For this project, the IBMO Fire Seal was selected. This fire-resistant sealing system has been specifically developed to provide safe and reliable sealing of pipe penetrations through walls and floors where a high level of fire protection and operational reliability is required.
By using the IBMO Fire Seal, the pipe penetrations at EVOS West Amsterdam fully comply with the stringent safety requirements applicable to tank terminals. The solution provides a durable fire-, gas-, and liquid-tight seal, protecting the installations against fire spread, leakage, and the ingress of hazardous substances. Thanks to its straightforward installation and long service life, a reliable, low-maintenance, and future-proof sealing solution has been achieved.
